Requirements for the Major


The Neuroscience major requires a total of 45-49 credits and consists of the Neuroscience core curriculum along with at least one concentration. Concentrations include Biological, Computational, and Psychological Neuroscience tracks. Students have the option to complete more than one concentration, depending on their interests.

Neuroscience Core Curriculum (required of all students regardless of their chosen concentration):


32-33 credits

Philosophy (6 credits)


Biology (11-12 credits)


Chemistry


Students completing the Biological Neuroscience track must also take CH 105 and CH 106. All Neuroscience students should look at the entrance requirements for graduate programs they may be considering to determine whether these Chemistry courses (if not required) or additional Chemistry courses would help prepare them for graduate school.

Biological Neuroscience Concentration (13-15 credits)


The Biological Neuroscience concentration consists of another 13-15 credits, in addition to the required Neuroscience courses.

Computational Neuroscience Concentration (16 credits)


The Computational Neuroscience concentration consists of another 16 credits, in addition to the required Neuroscience courses.

Psychological Neuroscience Concentration (14-15 credits)


The Psychological Neuroscience concentration consists of another 14-15 credits, in addition to the required Neuroscience courses.
