Instrumental Music Education + Performance (5-Year Program)


The Bachelor of Music in Instrumental Music Education and Performance is a 5 year program that requires 160 credits.  Students must select a concentration in Instrumental Performance or Piano Performance.

  • Major Ensemble - Instrumental (ES courses, 9-6 credits)
  • Chamber Music (ES courses, 1-6 credits)
  • Chamber Music requirements: Violin, Viola, Cello (6); Bass (4); Guitar (3); Harp (1); Woodwinds (4); Brass (4); Percussion (6)

  • Min Units: 1
  • Upper-Level Music History Electives (MH courses, 6 credits)
  • Upper-Level Music Theory Elective (MT course, 3 credits)

Piano Performance Concentration Requirements (51 credits)


Core Curriculum (27 credits for Instrumental Performance, 24 credits for Piano Performance)
