EN 220 - Science Fiction and Fantasy Min Units: 3 Max Units: 3 The overlapping genres of science fiction and fantasy are two of the most innovative and popular of 21st century writing forms. This course offers readings and lessons from some of the most celebrated and rising authors in these fields. Readings and assignments will focus on how ‘sci-fi’ and ‘fantasy’ allow a writer to interact in interdisciplinary modes with ideas, language, and politics from the broader culture, explore and express psychological states, and construct imaginative latitudes within which literature as we know it and practice it can be reconceptualized.
