ED 583 - Characteristics of Children Needing Mild Intervention Min Units: 2 Max Units: 2 This course addresses the various psychological principles as applied to understanding and teaching students with exceptionalities. Disability areas, with an emphasis on high incidence disabilities, including etiologies, characteristics, educational and social impact, and educational approaches are addressed. Additional topics include universal design for learning, differentiation, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, and policies related to special education. (G) Occasionally
