CN 325 - Advanced Chinese Reading

The course focuses on improving student’s skill of reading so as to help their other skills in listening, speaking, and writing at the same time. Students will read about nine books of their interest the whole semester. The list of books include short stories, folktales, children’s literature, biographs, movie scripts. Students will learn basic vocabulary and expressions from texts, complete comprehension tasks, including writing book summary, reflection, analyses, etc., and give presentations to share their thoughts with their peer students. The goal is to foster students’ interest in Chinese by embracing topics of their interest. (U) Occasionally
Prerequisite(s): This course is designed for language students with at least 3-4 semesters of formal training in Chinese
