CLA 323 - Women in Antiquity Min Units: 3 Max Units: 3 The purpose of this course is to introduce students to primary source material (literary, documentary, and material) that sheds light on the lives of women in antiquity, methods of analyzing this data, and various debates in this field of study. We will also discuss evidence for and issues pertaining to gender, sexuality, and non-elites in the ancient world with a focus on the ancient Mediterranean, although course content may extend beyond that geographical designation.
