CH 110 - Chemistry in the Community

Students will research, develop, and present engaging demonstrations related to chemistry and natural science. Students will research the appropriate safety concerns and scientific principles behind the demonstration while developing the communication skills necessary to connect with the expected audience. The demonstration will be presented at multiple science outreach events within the Indianapolis community during the course. Reflective writing will be assigned concerning how the interactions with the public have affected the students’ perceptions of chemistry, themselves, and the community. (U) Fall
