In this course, students will read texts that explore the self and the concept of service. Readings will examine the world of children and senior citizens. Sample authors include: Alexie, Updike, and Junot Diaz. Students will create oral and written histories of themselves and a person (child or senior) they serve. This 3 credit hour course is designated service learning (at least 20 hrs service required) with a child or senior. (U) Fall
