SW 262-AN - Sport, Empire & Identity Min Units: 3 Max Units: 3 This course explores sport in the contemporary moment and historically to better understand and appreciate its role in imperial projects and the creation of colonial and post-colonial subjects. Through readings, films, and experiential learning, we will investigate the central and powerful position of sport as a means of defining and dividing people along numerous axes of identification, such as gender, class, race, ethnicity, sexuality, nationality, (dis)ability, and even religious affiliation.
