PE 261 - Theory and Practice of Coaching Min Units: 3 Max Units: 3 Course provides in depth study of knowledge and skills necessary for effective coaching on any level and in any setting. Topics include ethics and philosophy, teaching and communication, growth and development, physical conditioning, sport skills and tactics, safety and injury prevention, organization and administration. American Red Cross First Aid, Health and Safety certification is current for a period of two years from date of course completion. (U) Spring Prerequisite(s): Minor in Recreation and Sports Studies, Sports Coaching, Major in Human Movement and Health Science Education or permission by the instructor
