The purpose of this course is for the student to undertake the study of the role of the body and movement in theatre performance, and by extension gain a greater understanding of the theatrical art. The student will engage in a variety of activities that could include experiential learning; attending and assessing theatrical performances; and practical studies and exercises, readings, writing, analyzing, and discussing the role of the human body and movement in theatre and all human exchange. A background in theatre is not at all necessary; a willingness to commit to personal exploration and to participate in performance practices in the studio is a must. (U) Occasionally
