MA 301 - History of Mathematics Min Units: 3 Max Units: 3 This course provides an overview of the historical evolution of major concepts in mathematics from ancient development of various number systems from Egypt, Greece, China, India, through mathematical developments in early to modern Europe, and up to discoveries of living mathematicians. Topics may include arithmetic, algebra, theory of equations, geometry, trigonometry, number theory, combinatorics, probability, and the theory of functions. (U/G) Occasionally Prerequisite(s): MA 200
