HST 350 - History of Children and Youth Min Units: 3 Max Units: 3 This course examines the experience of children in history. Topics include changing conceptions of childhood, social/historical settings, parenting practices, gender roles, schooling, and the emergence of youth culture. Readings feature the history of children in America. Writing includes student autobiography and projects on contemporary children/youth. First-year students admitted only by permission of the department. (U/G) Occasionally Prerequisite(s): Sophomore or higher
