EN 403 - Professional Writing Capstone Min Units: 3 Max Units: 3 This course provides students the opportunity to think critically about and analyze social problems in our community as well as to serve a local nonprofit organization addressing a specific problem, such as homelessness, food insecurity, healthcare disparities, environmental threats, and education disparities. Students will learn how nonprofit organizations set agendas, address community needs, acquire and allocate resources, and engage in education and advocacy. To serve the community partner, students will produce various forms of professional writing, such as reports, grant proposals, and policy papers, as well as provide research services and other projects. (U) Fall, Spring Prerequisite(s): Completion of three courses in Professional Writing (EN 203 , EN 303 , and EN 386 ) or an equivalent
