The MS in Mental Health Counseling offers hands-on training and a pathway to dual-licensure in mental health counseling and clinical addictions counseling. Experienced faculty present a rigorous curriculum that is aligned with national and state standards.
You’ll complete a 100-hour practicum and a 600-hour internship at a facility that is convenient to you and graduate prepared to pursue dual-licensure in mental health counseling and clinical addictions counseling. Our coursework directly prepares you for licensure in all states except California and Florida. Requirements vary by state.
For Indiana residents, we have a partnership with a large mental health agency, which provides some students the opportunity to earn a $5,000 stipend during an internship, receive advanced training from the agency, and be guaranteed an employment interview upon graduation.
Most courses are asynchronous with no scheduled class meetings, although active engagement and approximately nine hours of outside work are expected each week for each three-credit course, and live class meetings are a requirement during Practicum and Internship.
