Special Education Mild Intervention Minor

Requirements for the Minor


This minor is open to College of Education students and related majors. The pathway to an additional LICENSURE in MI is only available to Elementary Education majors. The licensure pathway require the additional coursework & student teaching placement and passing the state approved licensure exams. Middle-Secondary majors must Major in Middle-Secondary Special Education to be licensed in MI.

Total Hours: 20


Note: For Elementary majors seeking the MI Minor AND Licensure: ED 493 - Professional Seminar: Mild Interventions  (3) during spring student teaching placement

Speech, Language, and Hearing Science (SLHS) who are completing the minor are encouraged to complete the MI Concentration (ED 242 , ED 454 , ED 491 , ED 479 , ED 492 ) before proceeding to other MI Minor courses. Speech, Language, and Hearing Science (SLHS) students who are completing the minor have the option to take ED 408  in the place of ED 485 .
