An introduction to philosophical debates taking place in 17th-18th century Europe, a period of scientific, social and political revolution. Topics include metaphysical and epistemological ideas about nature, God, the self and knowledge, as well as moral and political ideas about the goals of human life, and the rights and obligations of individuals and of the state.
