ED 112 - Introduction to Professional Educators Min Units: 3 Max Units: 3 This course introduces potential educators to the mission, the vision, and the ethos of the Butler University College of Education and explores the complexities, the challenges, and the joys of being a professional educator in a variety of educational contexts. It is an introduction to the core identities and commitments of the College across all degree pathways at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The course is structured as an intentional, transparent model of our college’s vision and core values and there is an expectation that those in the course be intentional in exploring what it means to be a solution-focused, reflective change agent seeking ways to integrate and connect content area knowledge, pedagogical knowledge and technological knowledge. Open to first year and sophomore exploratory students. Students with junior or senior standing may enroll with instructor permission only. (U) Fall, Spring, Summer
