In this advanced course, we continue to practice communication among patients and healthcare professionals in a variety of settings. There is increased focus on reading health-related media, including fiction (short stories, poetry, etc.) and non-fiction (pamphlets and articles), to hone students’ linguistic capacities, cultural understanding, ethical considerations, and empathy. Careful and effective reading and writing will be prioritized with the aim of preparing students to participate in broader healthcare conversations (discourses, research, and debates). (U) Spring
Prerequisite(s): RX 481 or BSHS 481 and COPHS student or enrollment in Medical Spanish minor; or permission of the instructor
