French Content Area Requirements (42 hours)


Following this curricular plan will ensure that you meet the Butler University and initial Indiana licensing course requirements for teaching French for grades 5-12. Courses must be completed with a grade of C or better to meet the standard for College of Education students. 

 

        University Core Content Area Course(s)

        Middle/Secondary Education majors with the French content area must meet all University Core Requirements
        listed in Middle/Secondary Education, BS in addition to the following specifications:

  • [To meet the Global and Historal Studies core requirement], students are recommended to Study Abroad for 1 semester  

Second Major Requirements


Middle/Secondary Education majors with the French content area complete all requirements for a second major in French, BA  

Students should declare a second major and see their LAS advisor for additional requirements.

 

Availability of French courses are subject to scheduling by the Modern Languages, Literatures, and Cultures department. Below is a list of French courses that may be offered.
