General University Elective Courses - choose at least 12 hours
Choose any 200-level or above University course not used as a required course to complete the 121 hours needed for a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare and Business degree. At least 3 hours must be from outside the Lacy School of Business.
The minimum number of credit hours for the Healthcare and Business major (BSHS degree) is 121.
Per university requirements, a minimum of 40 credit hours must be at the 300 level or above.
For students transferring into Butler from another university, at least 45 credit hours of coursework must be successfully completed here to earn a Butler degree.
Healthcare and Business students cannot double major in Health Sciences, Public Health, or Business. Healthcare and Business students cannot minor in Healthcare Management.
Please check with LSB for other Business-related double majors or minors. Limitations may be placed on specific combinations based on degree of overlap with required courses in the HCB major.
Optional Concentrations for Healthcare and Business Majors
Healthcare and Business majors may choose to declare one of the following concentrations.
Hours from a concentration may also be used to satisfy the General University Elective courses.
Optional Pre-Professional Tracks
Healthcare and Business majors may choose to declare one of the following pre-professional tracks. Courses in these tracks can also count towards the University General Elective courses. Students can only declare one track. NOTE: These courses are not inclusive of all professional program pre-requisites. Please consult with each individual school’s professional program pre-requisites to determine which courses are needed to apply to each program.
