The Foundations in Orthopedic Care Certificate is designed for physician assistants who want to enhance their knowledge and understanding of orthopedic care. There are four modules that explore multiple components of orthopedic care for patients including evaluation, treatment, and complications. The modules include the topics of upper and lower extremity orthopedics, spinal conditions, as well as pharmacological and wound care needs of orthopedic patients.
Applicants to the Foundations in Orthopedic Care Certificate program must have successfully graduated from a PA program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on the Education of a Physician Assistant.
Currently enrolled Butler DMS students may also expand upon their degree concentration to include information offered within these courses and obtain a supplemental certificate. The Foundations in Orthopedic Care Certificate includes four, three-credit modules for a total of 12 hours, which can be completed in just two semesters.
