The entry-level Respiratory Therapy curriculum develops respiratory health care providers that have received an education grounded in the liberal arts and who will exemplify the ethical and professional standards expected of all health care professionals. The program promotes achievement of the defined competencies of the profession and provides a foundation of sufficient scope and depth to prepare students to achieve success as respiratory therapists. The Bachelor of Science Respiratory Therapy program’s goals are:
A. To prepare graduates with demonstrated competence in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains of respiratory care practice as performed by registered respiratory therapists.
B. To prepare leaders for the field of respiratory care with acquisition of skills in leadership, management, and research to prepare students for practice.
