Butler University offers a graduate non-degree program that provides the 12-credit-hours of coursework necessary for most individuals holding a 48-credit-hour Master of Science in School Counseling degree to apply for status as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Indiana. While designed specifically for school counselors, admission is open to anyone needing these courses for licensure, and the classes can be taken individually pending availability. With demand for mental health workers on the rise, the LMHC certificate opens the door to many interesting job opportunities for those who are close to license eligibility.
