It is the goal of the Vocal Jazz Repertoire Ensemble to provide vocal students with an environment for the learning of the jazz repertoire, style, and language. Through the study of the master jazz musicians, students can expect to learn about phrasing, articulation, feel, balance, blend, and improvisation. It is the responsibility of the student to prepare for each rehearsal by practicing the assigned repertoire, theoretical concept, and completing the assigned directed listening. Overall progress will be assessed through at least one on-campus performance per semester. (U) Fall, Spring
