The course will be an introductory examination of the evolution of immunization policies and practices in the United States and an exploration of the social, cultural, economic and political factors influencing vaccine hesitancy and anti-vaccination sentiments. Students will engage in critical reviews and discussions about the growing anti-vaccination movement and develop an understanding of the complex intersections of factors related to a society’s acceptance of vaccination initiatives.
